Mathieu Charbonneau is an Associate Professor at the Africa Institute for Research in Economics and Social Sciences, at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco. His research investigates the mechanisms and processes of technological change, with a particular focus on understanding what makes human technological evolution open-ended. He studies how humans learn and transmit complex techniques from one another, drawing on insights from cognitive science and anthropology. His work also examines how cognitive technologies enhance human intellectual capabilities and their role in the development of science and technology, collaborating with researchers across psychology, archaeology, and computational science.
